Ms. Burstein has more than 20 years experience in public accounting, working in the areas of litigation support, audit and tax. Ms. Burstein began her career in 1990 working for a multinational accounting firm (Ernst & Young) in New York and then in South Florida.
Since joining Gerson Preston in 1996, Ms. Burstein primarily focuses her practice on litigation support, business valuation, business damages and transfer pricing.
Ms. Burstein received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Skidmore College in 1989 and her Masters in Accounting from Northeastern University in 1990. She holds a CPA certificate from both New York and Florida. In 2003, Ms. Burstein received the AICPA designation of “Accredited in Business Valuation” (ABV) and in 2008 she received the AICPA designation of “Certified in Financial Forensics” (CFF). In 2006, Ms. Burstein was a South Florida Business Journal “Up & Comers” Award Finalist.
A member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Ms. Burstein is also qualified as an expert witness in business and contract damage issues and has testified in Florida Circuit Courts.
In addition to her professional responsibilities, Ms. Burstein has been active in charitable causes including the Greater Miami Jewish Federation, Temple Beth Sholom and the United Way. Over the years, Ms. Burstein has served on several boards and financing committees including Lehrman Community Day School and the Miami Beach JCC.
Ms. Burstein and her husband, Mark, live on Miami Beach and have three children.
