Alan A. Lips, who joined the firm in 1995, concentrates his practice on international tax and estate planning, real estate, construction, manufacturing and business consulting. Mr. Lips became a partner at GP in 2002 after establishing a significant international Tax Practice.

He serves clients on a full range of matters, including corporate and investment structuring and planning for both inbound and outbound transactions, pre-immigration tax planning, U.S. income and estate tax planning and compliance and financial reporting.

Mr. Lips works with clients from all over the world including South Americans, Europeans and many others seeking to acquire businesses as well as residential and commercial real estate throughout the U.S. and with the recent changes in the US Tax Law, Mr. Lips devotes significant time consulting US Companies and individuals with their business and investments outside the U.S.

Mr. Lips received a bachelor’s degree in accounting with honors from the University of Georgia in 1993 and a master’s degree in taxation cum laude from Florida International University in 1998. His professional career began with a national accounting firm in Atlanta where he focused on auditing and tax planning for manufacturing and wholesale clients. Mr. Lips is a member of the American and Florida Institutes of Certified Public Accountants and the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Active in the community, Mr. Lips has served on the board of multiple organizations including Vice-President and Executive Board Member, ATJC; Past Chairman of the Board, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce; Past Member, Miami Beach Convention Center Advisory Board; Past Treasurer, Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors; Past President, ORT America, Greater Miami Region; Past Executive Governor Board Member, Aventura Marketing Council; Past Trustee, Aventura Police Pension Fund; Past Co-Chairman, Mount Sinai Medical Center’s Young Founders Club; Past Executive Board Member, Mount Sinai Medical Center Foundation; Past Member, Miami Beach Budget Advisory Committee.
