Jorge Chabo, CPA

Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Jorge served as the Chief Financial Officer of a leading shipping line, where he oversaw the financial operations of the company for over five years. In this role, he spearheaded the financial management of a vertically integrated organization, managing key aspects such as land cargo operations, warehousing, stevedoring, and cargo consolidation. His keen financial insights and strategic guidance contributed to the growth and profitability of the organization. Jorge also served as Controller for several prominent companies across different sectors including a bulk carrier vessel owning company, a leading global computer exporter, and a chain of retail beauty stores where he oversaw financial planning, inventory management, and financial analysis.

Now, as a Director in the Audit Department, Jorge leverages his extensive industry knowledge and diverse financial expertise to provide valuable insights and guidance to clients. He combines his experience in different sectors with a meticulous approach to ensure accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and the identification of areas for improvement.

Jorge has a strong educational foundation in accounting. He holds both a Bachelor of Accounting and a Master of Accounting degree from Florida International University (FIU). He holds a CPA certification and maintains active membership in professional organizations such as the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Florida Institute of CPAs (FICPA). He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).

Outside of work, Jorge enjoys spending time with his family and staying active in the community. He volunteers in his local church to help recent immigrants become financially literate in the United States.
